Allt För Konsten – We have written a book about ourselves!

Just in time for Österängens Konsthall’s five-year anniversary, we are releasing the book about ourselves: “Allt för konsten -En bok om Österängens Konsthall” a loose translation would be “Anything for the arts – A book about Österängens Konsthall”.
It is the story of how Österängens Konsthall went from being a small grassroots initiative in a suburb between Jönköping and Huskvarna, to becoming a cohesive factor in its local community and a significant player in the local, regional and national contemporary art scene.
In the book you get to meet the artists, members, activists, children, volunteers, art lovers and hard workers who have made all this possible.
It is a handbook in art activism where the people behind the art hall share their methods, experiences, failures and successes. This is the story of how art and culture as a common denominator can bring people together and create community, cohesion and commitment.
The editor of the book is Johanna Linder and the foreword is written by Per Hasselberg, operations manager at Folkrörelsernas Konstfrämjande.
The book will be released on Österängens Konsthall’s fifth anniversary, October 3rd, 2020.
